Dr Roy Kwan

B.Med.Sc Hons, MBBS Hons, FRACGP

Dr Roy Kwan grew up in Tasmania and completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at the University of Tasmania. With a strong interest in procedural medicine, Roy gained extensive experience in surgical specialties including urology, neurosurgery, and intensive care before choosing general practice as his long-term career.

Roy brings a wealth of hospital-based surgical expertise to his work in general practice, with a particular focus on skin cancer medicine. He performs a wide range of procedures at the clinic, including skin excisions, wedge resections, iron infusions, and Implanon insertion and removal.

He is committed to ongoing education and has completed numerous advanced training programs such as adult life support, basic and advanced paediatric life support, and NeoResus advanced resuscitation.

Roy is passionate about teaching and regularly mentors registrars and medical students from the University of Queensland. He first joined the clinic as a part-time registrar and transitioned to a full-time role after completing his GP training. As the clinic’s very first registrar, Roy has been part of its journey from the beginning and now considers it his second home—a peaceful retreat from the lively chaos of raising four kids.

Outside of medicine, Roy enjoys fishing with his children, playing soccer and cricket, and chatting about all things sport. He’s also known for his excellent taste in coffee and can recommend the best spots around Ascot.

Fluent in both English and Cantonese, Roy combines clinical excellence with a warm, approachable style that makes him a valued member of the team.
